Family Media Agreement — Ages 5–7

The two-way family media agreement for ages 5-7. The child promises (ask before downloading, stop when time is up, tell a grown-up about anything strange, carry the device with two hands) and the grown-ups promise back (play together, listen before saying no, phones down at mealtimes, kind reminders). Signature lines and a 3-month review date.

How to use this with your child

Read it aloud together, then let your child tick each promise they can say in their own words.

  • Keep it short and warm — four promises is plenty at this age.
  • Let your child watch you sign the grown-ups column first.
  • Stick the signed sheet somewhere everyone sees it.

Look at it again in 3 months, and let your child suggest changes.

Other age versions: 5–7, 8–10 and 11–13 — pick the one that fits your child. For daily time rules, pair it with the Family Screen-Time Agreement.

Print tips

  • Print at 100% scale — not “fit to page”, so the sizes stay true.
  • Cards print best on thicker paper; laminate them for a school bag or wallet.
  • The ink-saver version is outlines only, so children can colour it in themselves.
  • Keep one copy on the fridge and one where the family already looks every day.
