About this story
Staying quiet is a choice too. Joy has finally found her place: a seat at the popular table and a spot in The Fab Five group chat. Then the chat starts mocking Daniel, a new student from Ukraine, for his accent. Everyone is laughing. If Joy says something, she could lose everything she just gained. If she stays quiet, she's part of it. A story about courage and being an upstander. Ages 10-13, Grades 5-8.
