About this story

A colorful puzzle box tips over on a wooden table, and hundreds of bright pieces tumble out, ready for an adventure. But one piece stands out: it has unusual curves and odd angles, blue and orange swirling together in a strange pattern — a shape that doesn't look like anyone else. The odd piece pushes and wiggles into a nearby space, but the edges won't line up. Other pieces snap together with satisfying clicks, and the odd piece sits alone at the edge of the table, wondering why it can't be like everyone else. Then gentle fingers lift it up, and a kind child whispers: 'Don't worry. You belong somewhere special.' She searches the whole puzzle, turning the piece gently, never forcing it — until her eyes light up on a spot near the center with the same unusual curves and angles. Click. A story about being different, belonging, and the picture that needs exactly your shape.

  • Unusual — not like the others
  • Curve — a smooth, bending line
  • Angle — the corner where two lines meet
  • Fit — to match a space exactly
  • Belong — to have a place where you're meant to be
  • Trust — believing it will work out, even while you wait
  • Concentration — paying close, careful attention
  • Complete — finished, with nothing missing
