About this story
Far beyond the rooftops and treetops, the moon hangs in the sky like a sleepy lantern. Inside lives a tiny moonlight named Luna — the smallest glow in the whole moon, shy and worried her light isn't bright enough to be useful. Every evening the other moonlights rush out to paint silver paths for owls, foxes, and children at their windows, while Luna hides behind a dusty star. But one night the Moon opens a glowing window to show her a girl named Amaya, lying awake while the shadows feel too tall. Amaya doesn't need the biggest light — she needs just enough light to feel safe. Luna slips through the crack in the curtains and turns her tiniest glow up as high as it will go. The room doesn't become bright. It becomes gentle. And with a whispered 'Thank you, little light,' Luna learns the quiet truth: a small light, offered bravely, is always enough.
- Glow — a soft, steady light
- Shy — nervous about being seen or noticed
- Beam — a line of light shining down
- Lantern — a lamp that holds light safely inside
- Shadow — the dark shape made when light is blocked
- Gentle — soft and kind, like Luna's little light
- Whisper — to speak very, very quietly
- Enough — exactly as much as is needed
