About this story
Mabel meets a magical rainbow butterfly named Prism, who explains a sad mystery: the colors of the town of Kendale are fading. Mabel agrees to help restore them — one kindness at a time. She comforts a sad man on a fountain bench, and purple flowers bloom where she shows kindness. She shares her lunch in a quiet classroom, and blue joy returns as classmates laugh together. She guides Mama Duck and her ducklings with gentle, quiet care; she listens as Chen reads aloud; she helps an elderly woman carry her grocery bags home; she gardens with the townspeople, plays with shelter animals, and serves food to welcoming families. And as each small act lands, the colors return — until Mabel and Prism stand on the hill above a colorful valley, the whole town painted back to life.
