About this story

In the front hall closet of a little blue house lives Bramble, a bright red umbrella who is very, very proud of one thing: staying dry. 'I'm the driest umbrella on this whole street,' he likes to say. 'And I intend to stay that way.' But on a big gray storm day, Bramble says no to a soaked little kitten, no to a rain-flattened squirrel, and no to a shy boy at the bus stop — while kind Nora feels a small, uncomfortable feeling in her chest growing with every refusal. And Bramble is about to find out what happens to an umbrella that is only built for one when the wind really starts to blow. A warm, funny story about sharing, excuses, and the feeling that tells you when something isn't right.
